UPDATE: USACE Presents Overview of its Metro East Levees Work

Tracey Kelsey, Metro East Levees Program Manager for the St. Louis District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, met Sept. 24 with the Working to 100-Year Solution Group to provide an update on the work the Corps has underway to continue to enhance the Metro East Levee System. While the work to improve the levees to the 100-year standard is being spearheaded by the Flood Prevention District (FPD) Council and is on target for completion in 2015, the USACE’s goal is to fully restore the Metro East levee systems to their authorized level of protection of 54’ on St. Louis gage, (roughly 500-year level of protection).
